Dear People of Advent,

As I begin to settle into retirement, I give thanks daily for the faith journey we shared over the past 8 ½ years.  I am ever blessed by your encircling love and grace.

In addition, I thank you for the generous gifts – the beautiful flowers that adorned the altar on our last Sunday together, the celebratory luncheon at the Azalea, the delicious wine, and the gift card to McDonald’s Garden Center.  My plans for spring include expanding my Advent Garden in my yard where new purchases from McDonald’s will join the Advent Easter lilies from years past and the hydrangea (a cutting from the rectory yard).  All beautiful reminders of our time together.

Bidding you farewell, I wish you all God’s blessings as you go forward with your ministry and trust our paths will cross often in years to come.
